Will Moon is the director of Heritage and Spatial. He has been involved in archaeology for 20 years, working in a professional capacity in the heritage industry for more than 13 years. Initially he was involved in policy and procedural development before working as a consulting archaeologist. As a professional senior archaeologist he has undertaken Aboriginal heritage due diligence assessments, Aboriginal cultural heritage assessments (ACHA), supervised excavation and test excavation programs, and undertaken extensive field survey work. Projects have included heritage assessments for state significant development projects (SSD). He has managed the implementation of the NSW Aboriginal consultation requirements and developed Aboriginal heritage management plans for the management and preservation of Aboriginal heritage sites. Will has also completed Aboriginal cultural heritage assessments and studies for projects in South Australia and Western Australia. He has visited all of the major rock art provinces around Australia. He has also completed historical heritage assessments for development projects and has managed local government town heritage and museum collections. Will has university degrees in project management, archaeology and heritage management. He has also worked in the technology sector as a project manager and business analyst working in the area of cyber security and the integration of new IT systems and platforms. During this time he developed and interest in how computer programming and open source systems could be applied to archaeological modelling and predictions, and how these capabilities could be developed and shared over the internet. He has a particular interest in Python, R, Javascript, Postgres and the Python web framework, Django. The Heritage and Spatial team includes a team of highly skilled and respected archaeologists and heritage professionals.
